ABOUT ME
Where am I located?
My studio is located in the 16th district of Vienna, close to Ottakring U-Bahn station.
What do you shoot?
I specialize in maternity, newborn photography, also in smash the cake, toddlers and mommy & me sessions. I also have another branch for weddings, couples and families (check out www.sarahbel.com for more info)
Why did I become a photographer?
I’ve always been visually stimulated to create something new, that I connect well with. I actually wanted to work as a graphic designer initially, but life’s path and God’s plan for me was a little different. So … here I am 🙂 and I’m loving it.
How did it all begin?
My artsy journey began in high school- I studied at Art’s High School in Romania and then I studied photography 2 years in Vienna, at dieGraphische college. I’ve been photographing since 2011, but I only started working in the newborn and maternity field in 2013. It was then, when I had my first newborn baby, that I photographed. It was of course much more than I was expecting and much harder .. but I liked it, so I gave it a chance. i invested in more equipment, in a LOT of props (and when I say “a lot” … well you should ask my husband 🙂 ) and later in 2018 I invested more in myself and went to workshops and mentoring sessions with some well known photographers in this field. In January 2023, I photographed my 100th newborn baby and with each baby that comes in my studio, I get to challenge my creativity posing them in stylising the setups (love that part!), but I also challenge myself to get better and better and to grow more.
Discovering me?
Since then I’ve been on a thrilling journey of discovering my style in this branch of photography. It’s interesting to see how, while learning new things, my vision and my style are shaping more and more. I love progress, I love a good challenge and you will be able to see that through my work at one point.
What will I do for you?
I will try to take more than just photos. I will try to capture a few of life’s greatest moments, that you will cherish forever. So bring all the babies to me! Let’s write the story of your life!
